Our creative
vision captures the natural
setting of the site.
We then work
to preserve its inherent
beauty while we fulfill our client's objectives.
The result
is a beautiful design which
enriches the beauty of every project.
The
award-winning design work of J. Robert Anderson
has received national attention based on his commitment
to embrace a broad palette of planning and design,
including site preservation, water conservation,
and the selection of native plants and regional
materials that respond to the rugged Texas Hill
Country. This is evident in landscape features such
as walks, walls, stone terraces, and, most prominently,
water features.
Nature-Inspired landscapes recreate
the native and natural based settings taken from
the surrounding region. J. Robert Anderson has developed
expertise in reforming the components of the area
into design landmarks.
Place-Sensitive design takes cues from existing
settings such as the geometry and pattern of a 100-year-old
college campus. In careful placement and subtle
use of transitions and materials, this firm has
embellished the campuses of all the major Texas
universities.
Water has always been an important element
in the history of the American West, and has been
woven into the landscapes and gardens designed by
J. Robert Anderson. Its use as a focal point and
work of art in diverse projects may make it the
center of entire projects, such as at the Austin
Bergstrom International Airport. The natural spring
and the water garden at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower
Center crafted by J. Robert Anderson are the nucleus
of the landscape scheme.
